How do you feel about wallpaper? What about temporary/removable wallpaper?

If you asked my teenaged self how I felt about wallpaper, you’d probably get a gross fake gagging sound reaction BUT this whole concept of temporary wallpaper has changed my opinion dramatically!

In the last two years, I have added removable wallpaper to five different rooms in my house. And honestly, I’ve been itching to add some more to either my office or closet. In those five different rooms, I have used three different brands of temporary wallpaper and here is how I feel about them and which ones I would recommend..

NuWallpaper - The easiest removable wallpaper to install

The Peel & Stick NuWallpaper brand is without a doubt my favorite removable wallpaper to install. I’ve used this brand in my dining room and in my master bedroom. In the two prints I used, I felt this wallpaper was the easiest to install because the paper doesn’t stretch which means the patterns match up easier.

This print is called Poplin Texture.

Can you find the seams?

Now, grant it, the dark color in this print might be why the seams blend so well, but I thought it was very impressive regardless.

I ended up removing this paper because it was a little too dark for the space BUT it came off the wall so cleanly, I repurposed it on the mudroom ceiling.

This particular print, named gray and white brick, was silky smooth to the touch.

I’m not sure if you can tell by this picture, but the right side shows how silky smooth the NuWallpaper is.

The left side shows all the texture on the Devine Color by Valspar.

Devine Color by Valspar - Peel and stick wallpaper with the best prints/designs

Onto my second favorite removable wallpaper - Devine Color by Valspar.

I like my wallpaper to be simple and subtle but add a little texture and movement to the room. And Devine Color has the best looking prints and designs for this look.

I’ve used this brand as my kitchen backsplash and in the dining room.

This print is called Textured Shiplap.

I like how these wallpapers have a raised, bumpy texture.

The application process was a bit more difficult because Devine Color stretches more than NuWallpaper. So, as I was working down the wall, the bottom rows of bricks stopped matching up perfectly.

Again, I think Devine Color has the best prints out there right now. This print is called Textured Brick Pattern - White.

Hearth and Hand with Magnolia - Pre-pasted removable wallpaper

The last brand I’ve tried is Hearth and Hand with Magnolia. I love the simple look of this x wallpaper. And as much as I love Chip and Joanna, I unfortunately have to put this paper at the bottom of my list.

I snagged two rolls of this on clearance and used it as an accent wall in my bathroom. The application was easier than I expected but it does take longer since you have to spray the back with water and then book the ends for a few minutes to activate the paste. You have to make sure the seams line up just right when using this brand which was more difficult since I was used to overlapping the edges on the peel and stick

The reason I have this as my least favorite brand is because I tried using the remaining roll a few months later and the paste would just not sick. Also, to remove this paper, you need to spray it with water first, you can’t just rip it down.

Final thoughts

I think temporary wallpaper is a great way to add some color, texture, or movement to any room. If this is your first time, I highly recommend trying NuWallpaper.
